Free ebooks with .epub format
I recently bought a Sony ePaper book reader. It’s amazing how easy to read and paper like the screen is.
And now it actually accepts an open format for ebooks… .epub. So not only are there many available books to buy at a steeply reduced rate, but there is also a nice variety of books freely available.
Feedbooks.com has a nice selection of available books, pre-formated and ready to go.
Sony, I like your style.

How does the Sony compare to Amazon’s Kindle?

I’m not sure exactly how they compare as I’ve not used both… only the Sony…. but at a superficial level the Sony is 50 dollars cheaper and in my opinion has a much better design.
However the kindle has more titles available for it and has a service that can download books over cellphone networks… so that’s pretty sweet.
Overall though I really like the readability and easy of connecting it to a computer and downloading. The sony bookstore is pretty good… i’ve not found a title that I wanted missing.
And as far as the “sophisticate’s wow factor” goes it doesn’t get much better.

Of course if anyone were to have this it would be you, Theo. I’m glad you enjoy it.
The Sony looks pretty snazzy, and, like you said, it really shines in comparison to the ugly Amazon Kindle.
I have some other feelings about eBook readers, but I will save those for later.

I recently purchased a Kindle. I have to admit that I like the look of the Sony and it seems like it would be easier to hold while reading. That said, I am so far pretty pleased with the Kindle. The wireless internet access on the go is pretty cool. I find it useful for looking up directions or info on google. It can also triangulate your location and pinpoint your location on google maps. Battery life is good and it plays mp3s as well.
