Ralph Nader isn’t the Green candidate. His running mate in 2004 was the founder of the Green Party and he ran on the party ticket in 2000… but that’s it.

I’m pretty sure that the spirituality of the President started becoming important with Reagan. I could be wrong though. I believe that the reason it started becoming important was that before ‘recently’ there was not doubt that the president would be operating from a Judeo-Christian worldview (whether or not he was actually ’spiritual’.

and in that respect you would be right that Nader isn’t the right leader in as much as he doesn’t claim to be bringing Christianity to the oval office like McCain and Palin sort of do (and Obama to a lesser extent).

But then again, it’s only recently in our countries history that bringing spirituality to the Oval office (i.e. since Bill Clinton’s debacles) has been important to the average voter (not that spirituality should or shouldn’t be considered).

for a guy who’s been involved in Govt. for more than 50 years it’s likely he understands the current threats better than most.

I think he also understands that the greatest threats to the country come not from outside… but from within…

The main job of the President is Commander-in-Chief and I just don’t trust Nader to take on that responsibility. He probably has zero understanding of the current threats to our nation.
